About Laura
Laura is a North American voice actor who focuses on commercials and corporate narration as well as explainer, instructional & eLearning videos. She also has experience in documentary narration. Her expressive, alto voice can be informative and matter of fact, conversational and laid back, witty and sarcastic, mysterious and sultry, or warm and friendly.
Laura has nearly 25 years of experience as a software and systems engineer and cybersecurity professional and technical program manager. She has delivered live IT system & software demos and live briefings to audiences ranging from colleagues up to corporate executives and government officials. She is versed and comfortable with technical terminology, methods, processes, & policy as well as the struggles of the end user!
Laura also has nearly 20 years of experience as a volunteer zookeeper aide at the Smithsonian National Zoo where she gave live informational sessions about the animals that she cared for including their behavior, natural environments and the threats that they face. She is a student of animal behavior and is passionate about animal and environmental welfare, nature conservation, and being a pet owner & animal guardian.
Laura's varied experiences have given her deep understanding of these audiences, subject matter expertise on the pronunciation and use of technical, medical & scientific terms, and the ability to speak off the cuff, give believable cold reads to scripts, and captivate an audience with a topic.
