After being a stage and on-camera actor for many years, I decided I had a lot more fun putting all that energy and interpretation into voice overs....the joy of performing the written word and the characters without all the fuss of what I should wear that day.
I have spent the last 20 years doing all kinds of recordings - radio spots and tv are the most obvious, but I have also recorded dialogue that is used in the Chicago Field Museum's T Rex multimedia exhibit.
Another great joy is recording audiobooks in both NY and Chicago. I have recorded children's books, self help books, novels and more. I have many Earphones Awards from Audiofile Magazine and have even been a nominee for an Audie Award. Most rewarding is having an author whom I've recorded feel thrilled with the final result.
My undergrad degree is in speech communication/oral interpretation from University of Illinois. My master's degree is in theatre from Roosevelt University.
I have taken many voice over workshops in Chicago and am lucky to know people who challenge you to be better.
My studio is equipped with the warm sounds of an MXL V-88 microphone, Presonus Audiobox recording system and professional AKG k240 studio headphones for clear and precise sound.
Aside from offering my voice talent, I think it's important to know I have a strong work ethic, am honest and generally pretty fun to work with. I am passionate about the written word but also love to improv when needed. My instincts are generally on the spot with material, and I take direction very well.
