Having hailed from Tulsa, Oklahoma, I have a background in radio, where I worked as a promotions manager for WKY Radio in Oklahoma City . I also have a news background, having worked as an associate producer of news for KJRH-TV2 in Tulsa.
I have appeared in several independent films and television commercials. And, I've produced and hosted my very own cable television program. I have a background in Theatre as well. And, was a regular cast member for nearly 10 years in a local melodrama entitled: THE DRUNKARD in my hometown of Tulsa.
I also had the priviledge to appear as a reporter in a bit part in the Walt Disney Movie, "TEX" starring up and comer Matt Dillon. TEX was filmed in my hometown of Tulsa.
I've been nicknamed "the girl with the smile in her voice" and can certainly add a little spice to your voiceover needs!
I have a Communications Degree from the University of Tulsa.
While in school, I studied journalism, speech, creative writing, voice and diction, photography, television and radio broadcasting.
While attending T.U., I qualified for an internship at KTEW Television (now, KJRH-TV/NBC Affiliate) where I worked as a production assistant. Upon graduation from University, I was hired to work full-time in the newsroom and worked my way up to Associate Producer of the 5:30 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts. During my tenure, I learned the "ins&outs" of broadcasting including the art of using my voice. This is where I got my start!
I then went on to work in Country radio. WKY Radio in Oklahoma City as the Promotions Manager. There, I wrote, produced and "voiced" a weekly entertainment update. I later went on to produce and host a weekly news program entitled OKLAHOMA THIS WEEK. During my 5 years at WKY I voiced many promos and commercials for the station and even peformed "live" cut-ins during promotional remotes with our station D.J.'s!
For the past 15 years, I've continued to work in the media freelancing as a 'voiceover' talent in Toronto.
The most important job to date... is that of Mother to my 15 year old son.
I also believe... you must "never" stop learning!
