I am new to the voiceover field, but not to public speaking. I have been a Sunday School teacher, lector, I've given speeches and presentations for school. After reading a eulogy at my Aunt's funeral, I was approached by many and told to try voice acting. A few years later, here I am!
I graduated college in 2012 with a degree in English. During college, I took public speaking and other classes where it was required to read aloud. I have also presented many topics to students and staff, giving me a lot of public speaking practice.
Looking back to high school days, I was editor of our paper where I constantly interviewed students and faculty; a 'lawyer' on our mock trial team; member of the book club; and Senior Vice President of the National Honor Society.
Recently, I took an intro to voiceover class at my local community college and followed up with a one-on-one evaluation session with another company.
I am currently reading all about voiceovers, listening to pod casts, etc. My hope is to continue with more training on a weekly / monthly basis.
I do not have my own studio equipment at present.
I have a mac with garage band.
There are many studios (within minutes, even) of my house, so recording and sound mixing / editing would not be difficult.
I may be new to the field, but I guarantee I will blow you away after one listen!
I have worked in real estate, childcare, health care, religious settings (Catholicism, Judaism),marketing and human resources.
I am a history buff and very familiar with science terms.
My background is in English and psychology.
I have a working knowledge of French and am currently learning Spanish.
