During my years in dentistry (12 yrs), I was very good with children and anxious adults. My voice always calmed the patient. I trained in relaxation technigues and was able to hypnotize a person and bring them into a state of total calm. Using my voice, I could take a highly frightened individual, shaking, sweating and breathing heavily, and bring them to a state of relaxation; calm, breathing easily, into a trance where all fears have disappeared. When I brought them out of their relaxed trance, they would leave with a feeling of peaceful contentment.
I have had strangers stop me and tell me what a wonderful voice that I have. While working with at call center, many customers would tell me how much they liked my voice. A professor talked with me at length about his experience with language. He stated that he had studied dialects for years and could tell exactly where a person was raised, yet he couldn't place my dialect, stating that it was so unigue. He advised me to use my voice in some professional way.
I have experience using my voice in singing, acting, and reading stories, as well as general work experience such as phone work and sales.
I worked in a juvenile treatment facility where I used my voice every day to calm and de-escalate angry and disturbed youth. My ability to calm using my voice and communication skills were so successful, that I rarely had to use physical retrain.
I have never had any formal training except voice training in high school for singing and speech.
7 films, 8 commercials, numerous plays and storytelling experience. There are some people who have gone through many years of training in order to use their voice effectively. However, there are people, such as myself, who were given a gift at birth. I truly believe that I was given this blessing to use my voice to touch the souls of people. I have no degrees, but I do have a desire to use this blessing in far more ways than just everyday life. If there is a need for my talent, then I must explore it, given the chance.
