My career began in 1978 as a police dispatcher. I was repeatedly told I ought to pursue radio and was offered a job as a radio announcer in 1979. In all I have had a combined 20+ years of radio, television and dispatch experience.
Television:
Voiced hundreds of TV commercials for three different affiliates of all three networks. Everything from Lingerie Ads to Sports Promos. (Though I was offered an unsolicited job as an on-air news announcer on the local CBS affiliate, family obligations at the time prevented me from accepting the position.)
Also guest co-hosted a live, 3-hour local morning call-in and opinion show on the local FOX TV affiliate.
Appeared in a number of recorded 20 minute TV ad specials for my current retail jewelry store as local holiday features. (They were one-take-only's!)
Radio:
News Director and live, on-air announcer.
Talk show host and interviewer for various daily and weekly public events and public interest programs.
On-air DJ.
Production: All aspects of creating an ad; professional writing, producing and voicing commercials and promotions. From 1978 to 1991, and since then occasionally for special projects.
Co-wrote and co-voiced a 1-1/2 hour long for-sale Tour and Travel recording, with Maine Humorist Tim Sample, for Mid coast Maine destinations; Camden to Bar Harbor.
Many live, on-site promotional programs for sales and charity events. Some with little to no time to prepare as an "emergency fill-in". (I ad-lib well.)
The College of Life Experience. Very hands-on. The best way to learn.
And I got all A's in English as a student.
I would be willing to obtain what is necessary to fulfill recording requests. I also have easy access to local professional studios in my area for a fee.
Currently I am the owner of a successful retail jewelry store on the coast of Maine. It allows me to increase my skill level in promoting my own business in television and radio advertising and promotions.
