Yukumi Takizawa is a Los Angeles-based gospel singer, songwriter, musician, worship leader, and actress recognized for her soulful vocal style and expressive stage presence. Born and raised in Japan, she began her musical journey in junior high school playing the saxophone. In 2006, she traveled to Florida with her high school brass band, performing in local concerts and at Disney World-an early international experience that helped shape her passion for live performance. Inspired by the documentary Michael Jackson’s This Is It in 2009, Takizawa committed to pursuing music professionally. She relocated to the United States in 2011 and studied jazz and vocal performance under respected mentors including Dee Dee McNeil, Billy Mitchell, Aimee Nolte, and Stacy Lee. Her training broadened her artistic range across jazz, pop, R&B, and gospel, helping establish the vocal versatility that defines her work today. After being introduced to Christianity, Takizawa’s faith became a central influence in both her life and creative direction. She released her debut album Believer in 2016, followed by the single Feel His Love in 2019 under the artist name Kettison. She serves as a worship leader at Pasadena Church and performs at gospel concerts, community events, and faith-based gatherings throughout Southern California. In addition to her music career, Takizawa has begun expanding into screen performance. She appeared as a backup singer for Shiya Fujinami at Taste of Japan 2025 in Anaheim, California, and later made her acting appearance in the short film High School Detention: The Musical (2026). As both a performer and storyteller, Takizawa continues to share messages of hope, faith, and inspiration through music and film.
