Having become known as "the voice of Finding Bigfoot", the popular Animal Planet show, I feared being typecast. I mean, there really aren't THAT many shows about Bigfoot that I can lend my talents to, right? Fortunately, I've managed to eke out a living with a variety of performances all across the industries various formats. I even did double duty on a major motion picture starring James Franco, by playing both the "narrator" and the "meta-antagonistic voice" inside Franco's character's head. Did I say "major motion picture? Well, "Maladies had an all-star cast, but, with a budget below a million dollars (most of that went to me, I assure you), it might actually rate as an Indy/artsy film that was shot in a week. Whatever. My voice can be heard virtually all over the world as one of the premiere Live Entertainment voices. Concert and Album spots, such as Toby Keith, Neil Young, George Strait, Barbara Streisand, Celtic Woman to Comedy shows such as Jon Stewart and Lewis Black. I do MANY theatrical reads for shows on Broadway and Broadway Across America. Musicals such as Cinderella, My Fair Lady and Sweeney Todd and many more. Commercially, I have done Nation TV campaign for Pacific Life, Virgin Mobile, Safe Auto, and many other various usage spots for Visa, Disney, Universal Studios, General Motors, Delta Airlines, ABC, Culligan, Red Baron Pizza, ad infinitum...
My narration career spans over 3 decades. I've gained much discipline by participating in numerous voice-over workshops in NYC, Chicago, Houston, Indianapolis, Hollywood, CA, etc. And one-on-one coaching sessions with the renowned Hollywood-based voice-coach, Marice Tobias, and also one-on-one with New York City's acclaimed vocal teacher, Marla Kirban.

We all have our own special narrative. Distinct journeys that lead us down the road to acting and narration. For me, I have done quite a bit in this industry over the decades. Like many, I got a start in broadcasting. But, not to worry... I've not used my "disc jockey/announcer" voice in many years... unless requested for a character (laugh out loud!) I have been a newscaster, ad sales-(I sucked at sales, btw), disc jockey (all dayparts, all formats), tv weatherman for ABC affiliate in Illinois, production director, program director, voice actor-(obviously), on camera actor, copy writer, live on-stage host, director of talent, production manager, morning show host, analog and digital audio editor, video editor, producer... I know I'm leaving something out...
Oh, as IF awards were valued so much as even a Grande Mocha, then, I won several AIR Awards in Chicago (March of Dimes sponsored/the primary awards event for major market broadcasting) Including being nominated for well over a dozen of these, while with ABC/Disney. And a nice, unexpected bonus with being awarded the coveted (it really was!) Helen Cody Baker Award for my creative and voice efforts. I've been told by many producers over the years that my voice has been used on award winning productions, but I never kept up with them. It's true, though. Honestly... I told the Barista at Starbucks about my awards, and, wholly unfazed, she STILL demanded I pay for my coffee. SEE?

A perfect recording. That's all I can say. Ken even gave us a few alternate takes on the closing line to really nail the tone. I can't say enough good things about Ken's amazing voice or nuanced delivery. We will definitely be working with Ken again.
