My journey began while earning my PhD in Education at the University of Manchester. I answered a casting call for a health awareness radio play targeting African audiences. That opportunity lit a fire in me to pursue voice work full time, eventually leading to the founding of my business in 2016 (originally Versatile Voices, rebranded in 2018). Inspired by my mother’s wisdom—“true power lies in speaking from the heart”—I’ve dedicated my career to representing diverse narratives in global media. Voice Over Training • 1998 – Lead Narrator, Ugandan HIV/AIDS Awareness Project Selected as the lead voice for a nationally aired awareness campaign across Uganda—Kenny’s entry into professional voice work. • 2004 – Voice-Over Masterclass, London Received foundational training in voice control, intonation, pitch, projection, vocal muscularity, and vocal warm-up techniques. • 2005 – Advanced Voice-Over Masterclass, Hertfordshire Trained with Channel 4 continuity announcer Gary Terzza, focusing on commercial, narration, TV, and radio voice-over work. Coaching included performance technique and vocal stamina exercises. • 2019–2023 – Commercial Voice Coaching Completed four years of ongoing commercial voice-over coaching with a U.S.-based professional voice coach, with emphasis on script analysis, branding, vocal consistency, and delivery techniques tailored to U.S. and international markets. • 2023–2025 – Dialect Coaching Undertook two years of dialect voice coaching with a U.S.-based coach, developing skills in regional American and international accents for character and commercial voice-over roles. • Ongoing – Industry Workshops Attended over 50 voice-over workshops across the UK and U.S., covering a wide range of topics including vocal health, animation, gaming, narration, promo, e-learning, and performance critique.
