Even when I was in grade school, my teachers called on me to read aloud or emcee the class play. My training has taken place in the real world, much of it as a self-taught radio and televsion journalist, writer and producer. While I have a degree in business, I have always been blessed with a good voice and very likable and credible appearance on-camera. I guess my best teachers were real life professionals who took me under their wing and taught me the business.
I won't try and impress you with a laundry list of expensive equipment. Today's advanced technologies allow for the use of a Zoom-H4 emulating the legendary U 47 microphone. The results are as good as sitting in a 100-thousand dollar studio.
My voice/over work is conducted in an in-home audio booth. Editing is accomplished with Soundtrack Pro on an iMac or in the case of video, Final Cut Pro 10.
Files can be saved and uploaded in a format that you request. I have my own Dropbox for your convenience. I also have a phone patch allowing you to listen to the audio as it is recorded.
If needed, I am six minutes away from a production company that I use on some projects.
As for my technical knowledge, I owned and operated a 10 persons video production company for several years including a well equipped control room and studio.
I have an incredibly wide range of life's experiences from conducting private on-camera interviews with three Presidents of the United States ... to piloting airplanes... to raising funds for termiterminalyally ill children ... to helping a University bring in more students. I also have a very creative mind and understand scientific and mechanical concepts.
Bottom line, I am a wonderful story teller. I love to learn. People listen to and watch me. They place their trust in me. I can motivate your audience to take the kind of action you want from becoming members of PBS... to joining a small group at your church ... to understanding how to install a do-it-yourself faucet.
If you are looking for Mr. McGoo, I am not what you are looking for. But if you need someone to clearly and honestly communicate your message, I would be delighted to work with you.
