I've been doing voice over work ever since I could speak! Yes, that's right - ever since I could talk - I've been doing "voice overs" for my younger brother. Mom would ask him a question - I would use my voice to talk over him. Ha! I suppose that's where I got my start!
However, in terms of professional work, I began both study and recording in voice overs in 2009. I worked with the production team at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, led by Scott Bowser and Tom Roy, to record all of their promotional radio commercials for the 2009 season. Recording was done at JPL studios in Harrisburg, PA. I also recorded voice overs for TV commercials for that Faire through Take One Productions in Lancaster, PA.
While my experience is limited, my thirst for both knowledge and experience is undying and always looking for a new opportunity!
BFA Music Theatre, summa cum laude from Shenandoah University (Winchester, VA), seminar with Jessica Felrice (VO Agent at Abrams Artists, NYC), and a great deal of improv training and experience! I learned the basics of improv during my college years, but honed my skills in both short-form and long-form improv troupes at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. I was also fully trained in voice over work there for their promotional materials. (Demo is available.)
I personally use my MacBook for all recording purposes, but have fairly easy access (with 24-48 hours notice) to a solo mic, choral mic, sound screen, and vocal editing software.
