Being a mother, a teacher, a singer, a writer and published author, I've been telling stories and reading aloud ever since my son was able to stay awake long enough for me to tell him a story. When he he was old enough and began having friends, I would have story time for them and the stories always seemed to get bigger and more dramatic - needed to keep their attention to keep them from getting into trouble. I've not done it professionally, but I've been talking all my life. It sure would be nice to have a paycheck for doing something that seems to come so naturally and gives me joy.
I've done extensive study at the University of Hard Knocks both here and abroad. In High School I performed in many plays, sang in the choir and that continued on into my adult life. I was active in community theater during college and started singing on my own to earn money. I've held solo concerts to raise money for charity, done much public speaking and never miss an opportunity to get on my soap box and make a stab at swaying people over to my way of thining (kidding - but I do have a lot to say). No formal training for voice overs, but I'm a savvy character and pick up things quickly (not like a Kleptomaniac, but I think you get the picture).
Since this is a starting point for me, I'm in the process of upgrading my computer and sound equipment at home in order to accommodate as many clients as possible. I'd like to be able to do much of my recording at home as quickly as is needed for the client.
I've always held traditional jobs. After college, I met my husband and got busy living the American dream. Was a Preppie then a Yuppie. Now, after 20-some years, I'm divorced, found my soul-mate, my son is grown and made me a Grandma, and I've managed to write and get my first book published (working on the next ones) and am looking to make a difference with my life - or is it looking for a different life - Okay, maybe a little of both. I'm a well spoken, intelligent, fun-loving woman. You'll find working with me will be a delight. My life's experiences will count for a lot on your projects.
