I started my voice over classes in the fall of 2009. I took the beginning, intermediate, advanced, classes. I've also taken on camera acting classes. After I had my voice over tape professionally done, it took me three hours to get an agent. I auditioned regulary for about a year and got my first gig in January 2011. It was a commercial for a hospital in Madison, WI. They were recruiting nurses. I recently was hired by an academic non-profit agency to narrate a trainig webinar series for teachers. I've also worked for the Atlanta Public Library channel doing voice over for their upcoming events. I also worked as a radio DJ on an AM gospel and jazz station in Columbus, GA.
My undergraduate degree is in Communications and Public relations. I've always been a great speaker and writer. My acting and voice over training is from Your Act, here in Atlanta. I've taken beginning, intermediate and advanced voice over classes there. That's also where I got my voice over demo tape produced. I also take refresher voice over classes to help with weak areas to perfect my craft.
Lap top. USB Mike with filter. Head phones. Audacity software. MP3. Email to send in my voice work.
I've been in the real estate business since 1986. I've always done free-lance writing and voice over work. I've taken acting classes and love being in front of an audience. I love public speaking. I'm not shy and love a challenge. I have a very professional demeanor in the way I carry myself as well as the way I speak. Although I'm 53, I possess a youthfulness that causes folks to think of me in my mid to late 30's. Most of my voice over auditions are for the 40's and under age range. I don't ususally receive auditions for my age range.
