I've been the voice of networks (HBO Family for seven years, Metroguide in NYC for its first year, Nick On Demand for seven years), several cable TV shows ("This Week In History" - a documentary series - for 2 years on the History Channel, "The Man Made Movie" on TBS Superstation for another 2 years, and "Ask The Stars" and "Celebrity Chat" on the TV Guide Channel for a year and a half as well as "Inside Science TV" for about three years). I've also voiced uncounted promos, launch campaigns, commercials, documentaries, audiobooks, corporate videos, sales tapes and in-house and YouTube videos, house and museum tours, and all manner of training videos.
I've been lucky enough to do some great long form projects - a huge project for the government teaching language and culture lessons to our service members stationed abroad, a heap of e-Learning modules all about how to safely and effectively work at and run a coal-fired power plant, an enormous HIV survey/questionnaire, a 6.5 hour LSAT Audiobook Prep Course, a 30 minute industry presentation on electronic traffic sensors, a 35 minute branding "audio white paper," a State Emergency Preparedness Training Course, a CPR course, several other training modules, games, prezis, loads of corporate videos, as well as some museum tours for museums like the Huntington in Pasadena, The Getty in LA and Boston Children's Museum - almost all gigs that I got through Voice123, by the way.
Representation-wise, I started with Don Buchwald in NYC, then moved for several years to Atlas Talent Agency (also in NYC) then to JE Talent in San Francisco, then to Stars: The Agency and now I'm just self-represented for now from Northern Portugal. The first 7 years of my VO career were in NYC where I voiced shows or promos for Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick@Nite, TV Land, Lifetime, USA, Court TV and those channels listed above, amongst others. Since then, I worked out of my gorgeous top-shelf fully soundproofed home studio in Northern California, and have now ported that over, with a few EU equipment substitutions, here to Europe.
I've been doing a lot of corporate gigs in tech for the last few years as well as re-writing and re-voicing a few TV series from Ukraine and Russia (!) I'm equally comfortable doing comedy and characters as I am doing "Straight Announcing" or narration.
I spent 4 years as a radio DJ, acted from childhood through college in school and camp plays, was the Production Director and General Manager of my college radio station, and have always been performing (most often for my poor family and friends) as the designated class clown. In fact, I did my first voice over work for myself as a producer pretending to be car salesmen, nerds, and other such worthwhile endeavors, and then for myself as the Senior Writer/Producer at Comedy Central where I spent the 'fin' years of the fin de siecle.
I recently added Stand Up Comedian to my (deucedly heavy) bag of tricks.
I have a custom-built, state of the art, fully soundproofed home studio stocked with a gorgeous-sounding Neumann u87 microphone, a lovely analog Focusrite ISA One Pre-Amp amid other state of the art gear feeding into my MacBook Pro running Logic. I tend to do a lot of unsupervised recording and editing, as I'm also a writer, producer and director, though am equally comfortable being directed during sessions via Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp, or Google Meet.
I'm also a multiple award-winning short filmmaker, a screenwriter, a script doctor, copywriter and a multiple award-winning TV writer/producer/director. I'm an excellent copy-editor and rewrite man, should you have a script that needs a little help.
And on the off chance that you're creating an eLearning video, I've got extensive experience writing, directing, script-doctoring and, of course, voicing these types of projects as well.
Otherwise, I'm great fun to work with, pay meticulous attention to detail and produce stellar work. In addition, I speak French like a native French speaker who’s suffered massive head trauma, and am greatly admired by small children and adults who should know better.
