I have worked in on-air radio broadcasting for 25 years, as a DJ, talk show host news anchor, traffic reporter, and commercial production. Because of the variety of positions in radio, I have done station promo work, IDs, narration and imaging work.
I have been an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, teaching production techniques, writing and annoucing skills.
I have also done voiceover work for industrial and education presentations, instructional video voiceovers for Keene State College, New England Telephone Company and for the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education as well as, on hold greetings for business phone systems. I have recently become involved with Internet radio and podcasting, and exploring short form internet radio programs.
My ability to do a number of presentation styles, I believe, is the result of the diversity of experience I have had over the years.
Most of the training I have had is the result of working in the radio business for over the past 25 years. Daily voice work, delivered on deadline, being able and willing to adjust to changes in copy, and clients and sales people's desires !
Also, my background in performing as a singer, amateur actor, music studies, and newswriting
have all contributed to giving me a broader view of what sounds good. Not to mention the occassional head ache !
In addition to working in radio for 25 years, I was a elementary school teacher, and became a piano technician/tuner ! I have a passion for music of all styles, have studied voice(singing)
I have also been an instructor in radio and production at Keene State College (NH) and at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting sharing my interest ,experience and knowledge with future broadcasters .
