I have been providing voice over services for over 25+ years in a relatively small location in San Diego Ca. The bulk of my career has been spent in the medical device and Life Sciences community for a wide variety of companies. Carrier, LPL Financial Services, JLG Technology, Cardinal Health, ScienceMedia, AMGEN, Eli Lilly, BIOCOMM, Alaris, Novartis, Glaxo Smith Klein, Loral Aerospace, USN, GE, BAE, Blue Sky Broadcast and Group W Media as well as a number of smaller locally based companies where I recorded narrative for sales and marketing materials in the form of DVD and online distribution. I have also narrated and produced audiobooks. I spent 7 years as an announcer for KSDS Jazz 88. 2 years at KPBS 89.5 as an announcer and producer and I worked briefly producing music for airlines with Blue Sky Productions. I have my own professional voiceover studio that I work from, however, I also travel to various other studios to record as well on an as needed basis.
My training started back in 1990 where I attended college for Radio and Television Production. I began working on the air as an announcer at Jazz 88 and that's where it all really took off for me. I spent the next 20 years working in the multimedia industry specializing in voiceover, audio production and editing. It was never my intention to start a career in radio or voiceover, however while attending college for Radio and TV, I was taking a radio performance class and the music director for the radio station asked me when I planned to audition for an on air position and the rest as they say, is history!
My studio is equipped with a Scarlett2i2 audio interface,dbx286S Channel Strip and an AKG214C large diaphragm condenser microphone.I also have a Studiobricks One Plus Iso-Booth. I use Studio One 3.3, Soundforge 3.0,and Isotope RX 6.0 I have an iMac and MacBook Pro that I use for post-production. I can connect using Source Connect-Now, Skype, Zoom and I also have access to ISDN when necessary.
A significant portion of my career was spent as a multimedia developer where I designed and developed assets, lessons, marketing materials, videos, and sales aids on many different platforms. I was able to provide my experience as voice over talent on any of those projects that required it and I also oversaw production teams ranging from 4 to 25 designers and developers in the last 4 years I was employed in the multimedia industry. The most fun I had over the years included working for 7 years at KSDS Jazz 88 where I served as both on-air and operations staff which led to my voiceover career. I did leave the multimedia industry to work in the healthcare industry where I spent 3 1/2 years working in a Surgery department at a local level 1 trauma hospital. During that time frame my voiceover career began to flourish again and I'm now in a position to devote more time working in the voiceover industry.
