Most recently, I did 2 different voices on a commercial for Hip Hop Artist Chase, that aired on Z100, KTU, and Party 105.3 in Long Island. i have also done about 4,000 voice overs, for DJ's in about 11 states. (I work for a voice over company that sells 10 second promo drops to club DJ's)
It just comes natural. However, over the years I have done varios voice programs and rituals. Copying the weather guy exactly one second behind all the way thru word for word with out one mistake seems to be the most fun tho.
I can sound excatly like that guy on your radio, or the Movie Phone guy, or even a strip club DJ. I can sound like a 27 year old guy, a 25 year old hip hop artist or a 32 year old mobster from Brooklyn. I can talk like a boss, like or a soldier, or even a man in love...but every word I say, no matter what the role, you will believe it.
