About Joanna
Hi! I'm a voice actress with roots in audiobooks, where I've voiced everything from old men to young children to demons with accents as far-ranging as British, Spanish, Scottish, Italian, Midwestern US, and Southern.
VOCAL STYLE:
My vocal style is articulate and versatile. My natural voice is an educated, assertive, and youthful American woman, but I have a broad range of vocal styles I can employ. I've received multiple positive reviews remarking on my wide range and diversity of distinct character voices.
My voice can be sultry, informative, warm, youthful, professional, snarky, ditzy, shy, adventurous, or friendly, just to name a few!
Dialects include: British, "Cockney," Scottish, Irish, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian, Southern U.S., Midwestern U.S., General American, and more.
I can also do impressions.
SOUND QUALITY:
I have a cutting edge recording studio fully equipped with the best software and sound gear in the industry. I'm trained specifically in recording, editing, sound engineering, and mastering for voice over and can offer broadcast quality pristine audio.
COPY/ WRITING:
I'm also a freelance writer with a background in both journalism and creative writing. I'm familiar with the publishing industry and have written several novels and worked with literary agents and publishers. I've written copy for professional websites, and founded, edited, and contributed to Kindred Mag (kindredmag.com), an online literary quarterly with an emphasis on personal essays. I wrote regularly for Project Middle Grade Mayhem, an industry blog on all things Middle Grade books. I can copyedit, proofread, and compose text for various forms of media.
