A receptionist is the first impression a potential customer or client meets or hears. My first "real" paying job was as a receptionist and I would constantly receive compliments about my voice. When I worked in travel, my only contact with clients was on the phone and my friendly demeanor and soothing voice would have us talking for longer than necessary. I have often been the voice on the after hours recordings at many jobs I've held.
Coupled with my experience in theatre, I learned the many ways I could use my voice, from the exaggerated pitch of "but wait, there's more", heard still in so many infomercials to the more subtle, soothing voice to sell perfume or high-end products. I would often fool friends who called by pretending I was an answering machine!
My location affords me the opportunity to work in New York City or Stamford, Connecticut and places in between. I have my own transportation and am close to mass-transit.
