I have spent the last 10 years of my working life as a film-maker producer/director. I make documentaries for TV, small TV ads and a lot of corporate/education based work. I have spent a lot of time with voice-over artists in studio. One day a colleague said: "you have a good voice why don't you give this voice-over thing a go!" So I have been a voice-over artist for a number of documentaries and lots of web-based corporate work since.
I am a graduate of the National University of Ireland in Politics and Sociology and of Trinity College Dublin with an MSc.(Econ). I was a military officer in the Irish Defence Forces and with a number of United Nations Peacekeeping missions, During this time I was required to develop and finely tune my presentation and briefing skills. I became 'spokesman' for a number of professional projects/entities during that time.
I am a member of an all male choir. We place a high premium on voice production - posture breathing vowel formation pitch and the importance of placing. This helps significantly with my work as a voice-over artist.
