I have studied voice since childhood. I also compose and arrange music, and sing with The Kadima Band.
I have a B.A. in Psychology and am a Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist and teacher.
I am continually upgrading my home studio, and can record and edit your project at home, or at any Boston area, MA, or NH or RI recording studio.
Mom, Singer, Therapist - all of these roles have influenced my voice-over style.
20 years of working one-on-one with clients in pain, helping them become pain-free, have helped me develop the ability to connect with an individual, zeroing in on a person's needs. In the recording booth, this skill has helped me feel connected to the individual listener, and has taught me to understand and take direction comfortably.
Also, because my work as a Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist requires the use of medical terminology daily, pronouncing these words comes easily. My experience in the health field gives me depth of understanding, as well as clarity and believability of reads of health-related copy. As a teacher, one of my strengths is giving instruction with authority and warmth, which also translates in to the recording booth.
Being a singer/composer helps, too, in knowing how small changes (in tone, mood, details) can affect a piece.
And, as a mom, I know how to get a point across firmly, and when to take a more subtle approach, when that is needed. Being a mom also requires a sense of humor, which also comes in handy when recording!
