Holy Moley! There are too many fantastic voice over jobs to mention in one paragraph, so I'll give a few highlights. I've been consistently working in voice overs for the last 12 years and had the pleasure to voice-match for Gwyneth Paltrow in her film "A View From the Top". It was also great being directed by Sydney Pollack as a voice-actor for "The Interpreter" with Sean Penn (I'm a sunny news reporter doing the weather!). I've hosted morning radio shows for Clear Channel Radio, voiced a new Sudoku video game and sang and voiced commercials for Hot Pockets, Mattel, Yoplait, etc. I currently do in-store messaging for Subway, Build-A-Bear, JC Penney, Aeropostale, etc. as well as voice imaging for radio stations across the country. Let's talk!
Just voicing things over and over again and finding out nuances, subtleties, timing...what works and doesn't. Studying theatre in London helped a great deal because I had a very strict speech teacher who made me do annunciation exercises EVERYDAY!! Here's one for you: "The sixth sheik's sixth sheep's sick." Oh vey. Also, theatre training helped because I learned how to trust and take direction very well (crucial as a vo artist). Learning how to sing and act classically, speaking another language, listening and practicing everyday have helped very much. Working in radio helps a lot with timing. Knowing what you want to say and doing it clearly in :30 seconds is an art! In LA, I took the master class at Kalmenson and found that useful in developing my sound. I use my voice in everything I do and it is such a powerful instrument. Got to keep it in shape!! I LOVE THIS WORK!!!
Pretty much summed up in training section. I've got my own studio at home which I am constantly updating. I so enjoy working with folks in creating exactly the right feel for their project. It's the relish on the hot dog, the icing on the cake, the...you get the idea. How lucky I feel to be able to lend my voice to convey your message successfully! In fact, I am so confident we'll have a blast working together, I'll do a spec for you...no charge. :)
