Jennifer Backstrom

As a trained vocalist, I have studied lyric opera and have been described by vocal coaches as well as All-State and University judges of my auditions as having beautiful tone. I blend well with others but as a soloist in my acoustic duo, I belt out jazz and blues standards at a decent volume, sometimes adding husky sounds to my repertoire. Being called on for such musical theatre shows as "L'il Abner" for the lead, "The Mikado" and "Pirates of Penzance" I am able to play a plethera of characters and have wowed friends and colleagues with my ability to impersonate diverse characters. Voice over experience includes signature jingles for talk-show personalities and jingle logo for Radio Station. 7 years of voice study and a year of musical education at the university level qualify me as a great candidate for voice overs of any sort. My participation in musical theatre and my current professional music career and practice schedule keep my musical level high and my voice strong. As a performer in front of crowds and as an associate in the customer service industry for over five years, my professionalism and social personality make me an easy-to-work-with colleague or client. Vocal work is always something I have been able to balance no matter what my career since it is a passion of mine I cannot live without.
