Most of my experience has been with commercials and promos. I have done commercials for diabetes, colleges, carpets, car, and furniture promos, as well as some technical e-learning courses, restaurant and resort commercials. I did a short part for show produced by Andy Garcia Productions. Many of the commercials called for acting skills while others were basically narrative or documentary types of work.
I have my Bachelor of Music in Education with a minor in literature from Nebraska Wesleyan University. I have graduate work from University of Nebraska in Music Education, then took time out to have a family, giving piano lessons in my home. We moved to Colorado where I attended University of Colorado and earned a Master's degree in Vocal Music with a minor in Education. After teaching public school music for 26 years, I took early retirement and started my acting career. I was "discovered" by Jo Farrell and asked to join her agency for training. I took on-camera workshops, making movies workshops and even worked for Jo at JF Images. I had to drop out because of illness and never went back. Instead I concentrated on theater and music. I took more courses in on camera work and commercials. I even took a modeling course, then trained with Davida Bloom on voiceover work. I also worked with Maggie Roswell, who helped me, with the technical help of her husband, Hal, put together a demo tape. It was shortly after that in the 1990's that I joined Voice123. I have just returned to Voice123 after taking time off to care for an invalid husband.
Professional microphone, NCH software for recording, editing and burning CD's, soundproofing in the computer room along with a closet full of sound absorbing clothing. I have a PC and a laptop, each with its own software, and a husband who loves to critique my work.
