“Wow, you have an incredible voice” said the state recognized high school band director. “You know the church refers to you as having God’s voice” declared the associate pastor’s husband. It was in 2006 when I stepped off the stage to behind the mic. My vocal career started as the voice of a large community art fair held at the church where I am a lead musician in the contemporary band. Although I have been playing music and recording most of my life only recently did I start concentrating on the vocal aspect. After many appearances as an MC, I was asked to announce high school varsity soccer and other various school events. Now in my fourth year of announcing, I have branched out to doing voiceovers/narrations for Power Point presentations as well as advertisements for local events. I wish I had a quarter for every time someone told me that I need to do narrations or radio.
