Well, now, I'm a retired teacher. If you've been in a first grade classroom lately you know the teacher is a performer, enticing children to pay attention, to learn and remember, using the voice as much or more than the other props. And middle school is even more the perfect training ground for voice over talent. Expressing enthusiasm for Social Studies to a bunch of cynical 12 year olds on Monday morning requires talent and skill to create a pursuasive style with just the right amount of enthusiasm so you don't get the rolled eyes.
I have done narratives for musicals and cantatas. I have been involved in voice over work for a marrionette touring company.
My training has been on the job in teaching, in civic theater, and in work sessions with Dan and Zan Raynor, the puppet masters.
Being relatively new at this type of work I am a fresh, easily directed voice. I feel I have a useful talent and skill. I am available, willing and able to give you my best effort and enthusiasm.
