She credits her background in the performing arts as her reason for developing such a well-trained ear for sound, an ability to take direction well, strong creative intuition, and confidence as a performer as well as an individual. Janna began training in Voice Over at Atlanta Voice Over Studio and fell in love with the craft immediately. She participated in an introductory workshop as well as a 3 month beginner intensive taught by Trevor Johns, and has continued to coach privately with Jill Perry; her coaches have described her as "directable, a visual learner, a storyteller, a thinking actress". -Janna's every day voice sits in an alto range- deeper than your average 20 something, a bit raspy, warm; however, her voice spans 3 octaves, allowing her quite a bit of malleability to go much higher or lower than one might typically. Others have described her voice as sounding rich, friendly, inspiring, authentic, announcer-esque (when called for), heartfelt, peppy, informative, sexy, confident, and comforting. Some have also described her as sounding similar to Emma Stone. With a background in acting, Janna has also mastered several accents and dialects, including British (RP, Cockney, Geordie), Irish, Scottish, New York, Russian, Southern, Australian, and Upper Midwestern. An acting background has also given Janna the tools to make a script personal, delve into character, and deliver a performance she feels is in the director's best interest and vision. -Janna has her own fully sound proofed home studio, complete with a Rode NT1 Mic, Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface, and Zoom, Skype, and Source Connect allowing you the option of directing the session from your location.
