We lost our little old cat Jonesy in November, and decided to look far and wide for a vacation spot. We explored going to Barcelona, Austin, the Baha and settled on Key West. It was inspiring, as there in gorgeous, sunny Key West, I had the good fortune to meet Pirate Radio News Director Don Riggs. We socialized, and I told my stories to him and our friends, as I love to entertain people and make them laugh with my silly voices. After our two week stay, as we were getting ready to depart, my husband and I sang together and afterward, Don approached me to chat. It was then that he encouraged me to begin a voiceover career. He told me he has been in radio and done voiceover work himself for 50 years and said I am a natural for this type of work.
In the early 90s, I was selected after a nationwide search, to serve as one of four expert panelist instructors for EPA's National Environmental Training Institute's Video Series on Basic Environmental Enforcement Negotiation Skills, for a two-day Live Video Telecast: "Environmental Enforcement Negotiation Skills- The Basics for Federal, State and Indigenous Government Personnel". This series is still used by the Agency to train newly hired attorneys in the federal workforce.I continue to serve as an federal trainer using my own written training materials, and I have also been hired by the NYS Bar Association to train attorneys in Albany with my own written training materials.
I am a published author of the following non-fiction works: "Indigenous Strategies for Human Sustainability", published in "Proceedings of the Indigenous Knowledge Conference: Reconciling Academic Priorities with Indigenous Realities" by the National Institute of Research Excellence for Maori Development and Advancement, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, November 2007; "Advanced Negotiation Skills- Alternative Dispute Resolution Techniques" 1997; Author and Workgroup member/consultant "Cultural Ecosystems Stories: a Guide to Preparing Natural Resource Studies", 1996; "Haudenosaunee Environmental Restoration: An Indigenous Strategy for Human Sustainability", published by the University of Cambridge, England, July 1995.
I am a songwriter and also a writer of fiction, with several yet work-in-progress novels which I will turn the necessary attention to when I am able to retire in the near future.
I love the written word and love to sing and make people laugh and bring them joy. The greatest and most common compliment I receive from people, is that "I am inspiring".
University of Michigan Juris Doctorate, Harpur College Bachelor of Arts, Backup Vocalist for Professional Musician and recorded rapper with lyrics written by me.
I also completed a voiceover workshop with voiceover coach Charles Michael at The Voice Bank in NYC. For more than 25 years, Charles Michel has been grooming voice over performers. Introducing them to his "TRIGGERS FOR SUCCESS" — FUNDAMENTAL TECHNIQUES.
As director of The Voice Bank, a company that represents several hundred voice-over artists, Charles has cast, produced, written and directed hundreds of voice-driven projects. An actor, singer, character voice performer and voice-over announcer, he has trained hundreds of voice-over performers.

My name is Don Riggs and I have been reading scripts for various types of produced audio and video programs for more than 40 years.
I have worked in radio and television news for much of that time. For several years, I worked at an ABC News Bureau in Detroit where I wrote and read news scripts. Reporters were also required to write and record one 30 minute in-depth news type program each month,
I have narrated many technical, and engineering type scripts, working with LTS Productions in Perry Michigan.
I continue to read scripts for LTS, which has begun to concentrate on government information video programs.
I also work for Great Sand Bay Productions in Flint, Michigan, narrating a show produced by them, titled “Great TV Getaways”.
The show is currently running on about 50 percent of the PBS stations in the country. I have been the narrator on this show for more than 20 years.
I am encouraging Janice Annunziata to pursue using her talent for voice-over and narration work. I hope she will pursue her interest in this field.
