In 1986, while serving as a Calvary Scout in the First Armor Training Brigade at Fort Knox, I was removed from normal duties to call cadence (vocal marching commands) for parade marches and public displays. The sheer power of my voice was held in reverence by the drill sergeants who assigned me the task of keeping several hundred soldiers choreographed, in step, and on time for performances and ceremonies. This was the first time my voice gave me opportunities unavailable to others and made me realize it’s potential. Now finishing 3 years of phone support for Verizon Wireless insurance division, my ability to imitate others by nationality and region has become uncanny. Customers often accuse me of being an automated internal voice recording because of my incredible control over my resonance and delivery. Helping hundreds of people daily in times of loss has honed my ability to convey deep empathy, sincerity, and conviction in my voice. Other phone work includes recorded and live support for Netspace (local ISP) and SBC DSL technical support while finishing college. I have been employed as both on air talent as well as voice over agent in both public and commercial radio. My core education is a BFA in Graphic Design, specializing in multimedia presentations -Kansas State University - 2002 Plus an additional two years of course work in Computer Science Information Systems to keep up to speed with computers. I feel that besides my voice talent, being a professionally trained designer who is competent to the level of commercial production gives me an added advantage. Just knowing how to be flexible and listening to the client can be incredibly crucial to achieve their goal regardless of wether it be a radio spot, web site, or annual report. None of this would be complete without mentioning my writing songs, playing multiple instruments, and performing live for almost 10 years while taking great pride in my finished product.
