Jamie is the voice and host of the nationally syndicated talk radio show, Animal Talk; over ten years running. He has been on air for the last four years at 96.3 WDVD, Detroit's leading Hot AC station. His voice work can be heard in some spots on sister station 93.1 DOUG FM as well. Coming from 89X in the early 90's to college station WUMD at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Jamie made a move to Lansing to join the crew at 92.1 The Edge as part of the innovative alternative crew developing that format. He returned to Detroit to join the team at 1270 WXYT and began his career as a producer and voice for the talk format.
Jamie's training comes from over ten years of hands on production for various stations and shows. Jamie holds a degree in English from U of M and is working on a degree in journalism from MSU.
In my studio I have EV RE20 mics with Symetrix processors, running through a Mackie1402 mixer, feeding two separate production computers that each has Adobe Audition. I am connected to an ISDN line via a COMREX and I am also connected to phone line via a Telos 1X6. Computers are online to email projects as well. I have a full licensed sound effects and music production library.
Jamie holds a Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Michigan in Dearborn, a Masters in Education from Wayne State University in Detroit, and is currently enrolled in the summers as a student at Michigan State University working on an additional minor in journalism. The hosts of Animal Talk write a weekly column for the Detroit Free Press helping people with their pets.
