A singer since birth, I was instructed to speak clearly and well by my Mother and Father; a former teacher and school principal, respectively. I was bitten by the acting bug in my third grade Spirit of America play in which I had a solo speaking part. Since that time, I have performed in church choirs, school music chorales, and musical theatre. It was that background that allowed me the opportunity to do voice narrations for my company, Teledyne Brown Engineering. There weren't too many engineers with a theatre-speaking background, so I was offered the narration position for all our projects. Most were military training courses--describing the symptoms of anthrax exposure, how to apply for military assistance, etc. I was proud to provide the narration for John Glenn's training for his "senior" trip on the space shuttle. I also narrated the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV online owner's manual--much more pleasant than the anthrax course. I currently do work for contractors to NASA for their standards and procedures which have been placed in an online, multi-media format. I've performed in several local commercials (car dealerships, grocery stores, prescription eye care), some with onscreen speaking and some without.
