I have worked in radio news and current affairs for almost 40 years. In addition to doing hourly newscasts throughout that time, I also produced, directed, wrote and voiced my own radio and television documentaries. I've voiced animations, promotional videos and educational productions. My radio documentaries have been broadcast nationally and internationally through public and private radio. I've worked for local radio stations in Sydney, Nova Scotia and for network radio and television on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation(CBC), and the Vision Network out of Toronto. I have also written almost 100 magazine articles that have been published in local, regional, national and international magazines on many subjects including business, IT, manufacturing, etc.
I have a Private Career College diploma in Multimedia Technology, almost 40 years broadcasting experience and have been a journalism instructor for 15 years. I have been a singer/songwriter/musician,(guitar, bass, drums) for 49 years.
I do my voice-overs at the radio station where I'm a News Editor currently. We use Neumann professional microphones and record on Adobe Audition software, producing high-quality MP3 files. The software also includes dozens of effects for just the right sound, depending on the project. I have also been editing audio since the old days when it was done on a reel-to-reel recorder using a razor blade and recording splicing tape.
