I am an educator who has taught speech and drama in high school. I have performed in high school, college, and community theater. I have a BA degree in English from Texas College in Tyler, Texas, and I hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management that afforded me the Administrative Services Credential from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. I also hold a Ph.D. in school administration and supervision. During my career experiences, I have been lauded as a highly dedicated, competent professional who always gives more than 100%. I possess leadership qualities that are evidenced in my ability to plan, organize, and execute a variety of programs on the school and district levels. I can persuade others to a proper course of action and act in emergencies with sound decisions. I also possess rational judgment and find it easy to inspire others to do their best. In my endeavors, I exercise initiative and originality and, above all, I possess courage to support sound convictions on quality instruction and curriculum. I have also completed my training with the California School Leadership Academy with the Orange County Leadership Training Center and am now a Senior Associate. The valuable training I received in this three-year program ensures effective instructional leadership. I feel also that the intensive training and experience have served as an asset in that I have availed myself of all the current trends in effective instructional and curriculum leadership. My dissertation topic was “The Principal’s Role as Instructional Leader and Its Impact upon Systemic School Reform”, and was focused on literacy, curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, program evaluation and accountability for raising test scores and improved student achievement.
