Last year I followed the advice of several television producers that worked with me and signed up for voice over training. I recorded my demo last fall and have been auditioning with many talent agents in NYC since then. During these auditions, I consistently receive compliments on my voice resonance and ability to take direction. My projects include:
Web Commercials
The Creek and Cave Restaurant-Long Island City (youtube video)
1800INjurylaw - Jeffrey Penneys
Video Projects -
VO for The Crew to You comedy group (Funny or die and Youtube)
French accent for documentary on perfume- Macedonian Arts Council
In-house Pentagon Promo for US Army
Department of Veterans Affair-Training video on diabetes. Voice over for avatar
Somnia Anesthesia- Marketing Video
Web based training program- leading international drug manufacturer
Bachelor of Arts - Mass Communications, University of Hartford. Courses included media production, acting, and journalism. I produced several comical tv productions using my wide variety of voices.
Master of Business Administration - Finance/Systems, Northeastern University.
Product Manager - Unisys (formerly Burroughs Corporation) Extensive sales training including mock client presentations and videotaped demos. Learned to work 8 - 10 hour shifts at trade shows while projecting high energy presentations throughout the day.
I also studied Italian in high school and college and can read Italian comfortably with great inflection and accurate pronounciation.
I owe all my voice over training to the Marla Kirban agency. I continue to audition for talent agents at Marla's and take additional training there as well.
Do not have my own studio.
I record my auditions on an Apple MacBook Pro with Garage Band and a Samson Q1U microphone
Prior to entering this field, I have had extensive experience in public speaking. I know how to address a large audience with confidence (largest was over 200 at a Board of Ed Meeting) or run a small meeting with 50, 20 or 5 particpants.
Years ago, when I was in marketing, I often presented humerous; yet important marketing presentations to large gatherings of sales reps by utilizing my impersonation skills. Most of my impersonations were of co-workers and clients, although I could add a Rocky or Rodney Dangerfield or even an Andy Rooney impression when necessary.
Over 20 years ago, I created a video presentation, with voice over (on VHS Tape) of my parents wedding for their 40th anniversary. I enjoy making multi-media presentations.
When my children were in elementary school, I participated in a program called "Art in the Classroom". I would present information on a predetermined artist of the month and to the class and encourage discussion on the artist's work. Given my tendency to incorporate multi-media props, I would dress in costumes as the artists or a subject in the artists painting and provide background/history on what was going on in the world at the time the artists created their paintings. I was complimented on my creativity and energy by parents and teachers alike and the students looked forward to my visits.
As a football coach, I learned to use my voice tone and volume to convey support and sometimes inspiration to my players. I also run portions of aerobics classes and have a great understanding of how to communicate to class members during certain exercises so as to make sure the class knows what to do and what is coming next
