I am new to the world of professional voice over talent but have relied on my voice throughout my career in sales, both in person and over the phone. I have learned over the course of my career to "smile" with my voice or to mirror the mood of my audience as well as other principles of vocal control which should transfer well to my career as a voice over actor.
I received my voice-over training at Edge Studios where I also recorded my commercial demo.
My career up to this point has been in sales. I believe that this translates well to my voice over career because in sales you must be able to get the attention of a specific audience, quickly achieve a connection with that audience, describe products in an appealing/appetizing manner, and close the sales based on the confidence you have established with your audience.
All of this is done, in part or completely using vocal skills.
