As a freelance video producer-editor television and advertising clients, I have had many opportunities to utilize my voice in rough cuts as a temp track, and quite often my voice is selected over the other potential voices. Clients that have used my voice include Sony, DTS, Turtle Beach.
I learned a great deal about voice over work at Columbia University's Graduate Film program, where I received an MFA. While there I became the go-to guy for audio post and in the course of creating sound design and mixes for dozens of short films I honed my own voice over skills, as well as how to sweeten and direct other people in the booth.
Prior to film school, I was educated in music performance (voice, piano, and guitar) at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Along the way, I became heavily involved in theatrical productions of musicals and dramas, and developed an interest in music production and home recording.
I have also received Pro Tools accreditation through Future Media Concepts classes, and as a professional video producer-editor I have had my temp voice recordings selected by clients for the final product.
I record voice primarily using Pro Tools (version 10) on a mobile rig consisting of a MacBook Pro, Neumann TLM103 mic, and Focusrite Scarlett 6i6. Although most of the voice work I do is either in a client's or my own studio, I have a great deal of experience with location sound recording/mixing, and can set up and recording onsite.
I do music production and recording in Cubase and Logic, in tandem with Pro Tools.
