About Essie
I’m Essie Jennings, and if there are two things I love, it’s good coffee and great audio.
If my voice were a cup of coffee, it’d probably be a mocha: rich, sultry, velvety – perhaps a little sexy. Let’s break it down.
1 shot espresso: a lifelong, bone-deep passion for audio. I grew up wanting to be a rockstar and learned DJing by my dad’s side. I’ve been on the mic since before I could reach it. That energizing caffeine hit you feel? That’s passion.
1 tsp chocolate powder: earthy but sweet, smooth but seductive. My voice is feminine without being girly – a mellifluous alto/contralto that exudes confidence and surety. It’s a voice that brooks no argument, that navigates jargon and technical language with ease.
1 cup steamed milk: because balance doesn’t have to be boring. I speak with a neutral accent, but I grew up in Arkansas before spending a decade in Florida and settling in South Carolina. If you want a little Southern Hospitality, you got it – the accent’s the foam on top that makes a mocha seem special.
