I began my radio work as a DJ for 88.7-FM, WRHU, Hofstra University's college radio station in 2007. I worked as a general reporter and DJ for a year until transferring to Temple University, eventually working as a Jazz DJ for Temple University's NPR affiliated radio station, 90.1-FM WRTI in 2008. I currently work for WRTI as a general DJ, front announcing, back announcing and doing the occasional promo. Through my years on the radio, I've learned a great deal of how to think on my feet.
Recently, in May of 2010, I got a job as a voice-over production specialist for Yell Adworks, a company that works exclusively with Yellowbook for some of their products. I research, write and record 30 second voiceovers for Yellowbook's customers all over the country. I am required to do at LEAST 18 voiceovers a day, so I have a quick turn-around.
I first attended Hofstra University in 2007. There, I had to take a non-credited class to be allowed on the college radio station. I passed the course and worked for a semester until transferring to Temple University for 2008. I just graduated August of 2010 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
I also took vocal lessons for 4 years in high school. I attribute a lot of my voiceover success to vocal lessons because my teacher taught me pacing and how to speak properly.
I do not have my own studio, but have easy access to one. If need be, I also have a mic and audio software and can record at home. I have vast knowledge of editing audio.
I have a degree in journalism, and I can write scripts if necessary. I can write in a journalistic manner or commercial.
