My experience began when Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM needed a new person for their voice mail recordings. They held auditions, but I happened along asking about a job. The project director, who has a degree in theater arts, was looking at me strangely as I spoke. He broke our conversation to ask his assistant if she heard what he heard...that my voice tone was clear, clean and smooth and would blend well with the system voice. He was VERY big on the system sounding seamless and not having multiple voices. I began recording ALL voice mail greeting and applications and got a LOT of experience matching numbers and phrases and being consistent in my recordings! A BIG compliment from him!
I began reading live for award presentations, recording phrases for overhead announcements during award shows and banquets (i.e. ladies and gentlemen, please take your seat so the festivities may begin). I even did a spot on Radio Sandia. OH! I also did a two hour show on a local radio station.
I narrated several classified videos and presentations and on-line and web based training. I was the voice for a college student's project of building a video game in which he created a sexy sounding bad girl character.
I have done TV and radio commercial spots; one in Spanish for Public Service Company of NM, Good Neighbor Fund. Others include Careers, a DVR program, Quality Pontiac, Isleta Casino (on camera). I was also an extra in Wild Hogs and made it into the movie! No voice there.
I also provided voice mail recording for two local companies.
No formal training. I am a singer, sadly just funerals, these days. Singing has contributed to the breath support and clarity demanded in voice over.
In the past, I worked with the director using Sound Forge to clean up and splice the recordings. We also had hardware noise and electrical hum, so we had to experiment with filters, pop screen and even wrap wires and exchanges hardware.
I have a cheerful disposition, a positive attitude and I will make every effort to accommodate you. Tell me what you what, how you hear it in your head and direct me until you are happy.
I am calm and easy-going and I like to laugh and have fun, but I do exercise professionalism at all times. I possess strong interpersonal skills which enable me to work well with individuals in various capacities. I have never met a stranger, I communicate clearly, directly and I will show up for the job!
