I was born with the inclination to use my voice to communicate, inheriting my father's abilities and enjoyment of public speaking and voice talent. However, broadcast news is where my voice over work began, professionally. My voiceover career really took off after getting out of the news biz, when I began recording commercials and PSAs. During my employment at Frontier Communications I gained experience by recording numerous voicemail greetings for large corporations in my community, expertly instructing callers to press one, press two, press three. On-hold and operator interface recordings with my voice played regionally throughout the United States. Most of my voice work has been for fun... that is to say, uh, pro bono. I enjoy recording voiceovers and am looking forward to the opportunity to make it a career.
Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications; a minor in Speech Communications from St. Cloud State University, MN. 1985.
Course work included various voice and diction, speaking, public speaking, documentary writing and voicing classes.
In addition to the experience and training mentioned above, I believe contributing skills of mine are professionalism and a tough work ethic. I am a perfectionist with my work and will give each job my full attention and effort.
