I am consistently doing voice work in the New York City Metropolitan Area. In late 2006, I was hired by Larry Weiss (the creative genius behind the infamous “Crazy Eddie” commercials of the 70s and 80s) to be a part time voice of Weather Phone in New York City, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine. Within three months, I became the Primary Voice, heard five days a week (Sat through Wed). I remain in that position to this day, recording 52 separate forecasts each day. In 2008, I will be heard in a voice role in the motion picture "Sugar." I was personally cast by Producers Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released nationwide in the Summer. In February 2008, I was cast in the upcoming full-length animated film "The Champion." The film will be in production this Summer in New York. I was also recently cast by comedian Adam Ace to record off-camera, off-stage lines to be used in Adam's act. I am also the Public Address Announcer for the New York Yankees’ minor league team in Staten Island, in addition to hosting corporate events for the Yankees. Also during baseball season, I am an on-field entertainment host for the Newark Bears. I can also be heard as the Public Address Announcer and commercial voice for the New Jersey Ironmen of the Major Indoor Soccer League. You can also hear me in the concrete canyons of Manhattan as an Announcer and Event Host for New York Road Runners. In 2007, it was my pleasure to inform and entertain 40,000 runners as the Pre-Race Festival Host at the start of the New York City Marathon. I’ve had the pleasure of co-hosting live events in New York City with comedienne Joan Rivers and TV personality and model Daisy Fuentes. Recently, I was also heard on radio across New England as the spokesperson for Remax Town and Country.
I thrive on voiceovers; I find each and every project challenging and exciting. I look forward to working with you soon.
I AM SAG ELIGIBLE DUE TO MY WORK AS A PRINCIPAL PERFORMER IN "SUGAR." I WILL JOIN AFTRA AND/OR SAG WHEN CAST IN AN APPROPRIATE ROLE CALLING FOR ME TO DO SO.
TESTIMONIALS:
“You may not have heard the name Ed Kalegi yet, but you will. He’s destined to become nationally known in a short time. In my 44 years as a broadcast advertising producer in Los Angeles and New York, I’ve worked with some great talents.
Ed Kalegi ranks among the very best of them. He’s bright, personable, and tremendously likeable. Your audience will be won over by Ed’s charm immediately. During the past couple of years, he has proven himself to be an exceptionally high-energy announcer/host for live events of all kinds, plus a great Voiceover talent.
Ed has the clear, up-beat voice and dynamic personality that make him perfectly suited to inform, entertain, and excite any audience. Make a very wise “blue-chip” choice for “live announce” assignments plus commercials and narration. Hire Ed Kalegi and watch your audience respond enthusiastically, the way you want them to ”

“For a little more than a year Ed has been the primary voice of LWA’s New York City and New England weather services. Ed’s announcing skills not only sound great on our tele-broadcast services, but Ed has also consistently demonstrated an extremely high level of professionalism and reliability, all the while maintaining a friendly, cheerful, and ever-cooperative attitude. Overall, I consider Ed to be an extremely talented, responsible announcer--and above all else, a particularly nice guy.”

I was trained personally by Chuck McKibben, formerly of the Mel Blanc Studios in Hollywood and former Dean of the New York Voiceover Academy. Chuck, himself, learned the art of Voice Acting from the best there ever was: Mel Blanc.
My acting abilities were embellished at Rutgers University through training and direction by Avery Brooks and Dion Graham.
I have a complete Digital Home Studio complimented by an outboard Dynamics Processor as well as a Sonic Maximizer. All recordings are performed in a dedicated sound proof recording booth, insuring the best possible sound for your project.
In addition to my voice talents, I am also a skilled and experienced Live Event Host. I’ve hosted events in front of as many as 40,000 people at a time. I can produce and edit my voice work from my state of the art Home Studio. I am also a proficient copywriter, recently writing radio spots for Remax Town and Country in New England as well as TV spots for the New Jersey Ironmen Professional Soccer Team in New York. I have also provided original copy for student use at the New York Voiceover Academy.
My location is ideal: I am only 25 minutes from Midtown Manhattan and only 40 minutes from Philadelphia.
