Dr. Seth A. Eidemiller is a board-certified emergency physician with a diverse background that combines healthcare, research, public service, and practical experience. Raised on a fourth-generation dairy farm in Idaho, he developed an early understanding of responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving. Before pursuing medicine, he worked in wildfire suppression, construction, and restaurants, gaining valuable experience that helped shape his communication skills and ability to perform in demanding situations. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group while continuing his clinical practice. Dr. Eidemiller began his academic journey at the University of Idaho, where he earned two bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Spanish. His education strengthened his ability to understand different perspectives and communicate across cultures. After completing his undergraduate studies, he returned to Boise and completed medical school prerequisites at Boise State University. During this time, he expanded his scientific knowledge through studies in chemistry, biology, and anatomy while working as a laboratory instructor and manager. He also contributed to biomedical research for three years, focusing on systems biology and human health. Before entering the medical profession, Dr. Eidemiller built experience in several industries. As a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service, he learned the importance of preparation, teamwork, and decision-making in challenging environments. His construction work provided practical knowledge in carpentry, electrical systems, and residential building projects. His restaurant experience further developed his ability to manage responsibilities, communicate with people, and remain organized in fast-paced settings. In 2012, Dr. Eidemiller entered the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. During medical school, he completed four years of training and rotated through clinics and hospitals across the state. His education included experience in general medicine, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, and internal medicine. After graduating in 2016, he matched into emergency medicine residency training at UCSF-Fresno. During residency, Dr. Eidemiller trained in a high-volume emergency department and developed experience in airway management, resuscitation, central and arterial line placement, and bedside ultrasound. He treated a wide range of emergency conditions, including gunshot wounds, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, stroke, respiratory failure, and psychiatric emergencies. He also cared for patients managing chronic health conditions with limited access to consistent medical care. Following residency, Dr. Eidemiller continued his emergency medicine practice at Mercy Medical Center in Merced. In 2020, he joined the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group, where he continued providing patient care while taking on additional leadership responsibilities. In 2024, he became Vice Chair of the organization, supporting scheduling, operational planning, staff coordination, and quality efforts. Dr. Seth Eidemiller maintains board certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, an active California medical license, and Drug Enforcement Administration registration. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cycling, cooking, home projects, and travel. He remains committed to community involvement and values service, education, and building strong relationships with the people he serves.
