About David
(He/him)A trained voice actor who brings to bear decades of experience as a successful communications executive across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. David currently works as a voice over artist and podcaster as well as an independent communications consultant.
Widely-read and interested in a broad range of subjects, David brings to this work a voice that is at once kind, authoritative, and engaging. His professional experience gives him a high degree of comfort with complex texts, and he is fluent enough with medical and legal terminology that he frequently finds himself explaining to new acquaintances that he is neither a doctor nor a lawyer. At the same time, David (who is sometimes described as a smartass) is able to bring a genuine sense of humor to material that requires a lighter or edgier approach.
I have a wide range of interests that can inform narrative work, including current affairs, sports, music, entertainment and history. At various points in my life, I have played in orchestras, managed political campaigns, advised Fortune 100 CEOs, and owned a small car detailing business. I have been a short-order cook, radio DJ, and White House staff person. I love to read almost anything, and get deep satisfaction from bringing an author's work to life for listeners.
