I've been doing voice overs for 30 years. I've done campaigns for Chevy, Ford, Budweiser, Dunkin Donuts, Coppertone, and American Airlines, just to name a few. I have also, landed roles in animated series like Rescues heroes, Wildcats, Are you afraid of the dark, Inspector Gadget, and more.
I've been acting for 31 years now, so I believe I am able to bring rich and dramatic reads to a project. I believe I have a very recognizable voice due to my many years as an actor, Host on Chopped Canada, Access Hollywood and for the last 6 years on Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. A reality show I did with my wife and children. My fans always find me in a crowd by my voice. "I thought that was you!, I heard your voice and thought, that sounds just like Dean McDermott, and I was right!!".
I feel I can bring a real friendly, comfortability to projects given my large fan base and voice skills.
This truly is, The Best Job In The World, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
I am self taught. I decided one day I wanted to be a voice actor and I struck out to do so. I made a rough voice over demo cassette with my rickety stereo equipment and started passing it out to VO casting Directors in my home town of Toronto Canada. I soon started getting voice over auditions, and got to work with some very talented voice over actors and producers who taught me the Do's and Dont's of voice over acting. I went to the school of hard knocks, and luckily graduated.
I am currently in the process of building an actual sound booth. I have 5 children, and need quiet for recording, and also my sanity.
I'm using an Apogee mic with GarageBand.
I love playing charactery roles, and accents. I can do a wide range of accents, and if there is an accent that is not in my repertoire, You can guaruntee I'll learn it and master it.
