Dave's voice varies from baritone to bass, and from smooth to gravelly. He started doing voice work as a young radio DJ back (as he puts it) when 'dirt was new' and since then he's read thousands of voice overs ranging from radio and television commercials to television shows and documentary style videos. His clients have included FunTrain VR games, Wayfair.ca, CBS/Lionsgate films, and a host of others (including being the voice of the ceremony of medals opening at the 1988 Winter Olympics.) These days Dave works from his home studio, using a digital audio and a Neumann microphone. In recent years, he has made a an effort to move towards acting roles, both live and animated, doing roles in CGI films for film, television and videogame producers in New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, and Los Angeles.

After a brief stint in professional theatre, I started doing voice work as an 19 year old radio announcer back in 1977. I'd hoped to be an actor, but roles were scarce for a young man who looked about 14 years old but sounded about 50! I worked as an announcer and voice over artist full time for about 20 years before going back to school to become a teacher. I continue to work as a voice artist, and do the occasional stint as a stage actor in local amateur productions. I have done hundreds of local, regional and national commercials and video projects for clients around the world. Lately I've been doing CGI film work as an actor as well as some internet radio dramatic series. It's all great fun- but I take each performance seriously-whether for a student project or a major corporation. Everybody gets 100 % of my attention and commitment. I studied television production as part of my B.Ed. In 2008 I successfully defended my Thesis and was awarded a Master's degree in Curriculum studies. I have a couple of excellent microphones- an SE2000, and a Neumann 103. I record these into Audacity using a Scarlett interface connected to an I9 powered low noise gaming quality computer. I offer a low noise recording, a quick turnaround time, and a positive attitude at all times. I love this work, and I audition for the projects that I think best suit my abilities and which offer me the most interesting challenge!
