Before getting into voice acting:
My initial voice experience stems from my days in the select chorus at my high school back in the early 2000s. I was part of a select group of 13 students who'd perform in front of audiences of parents and state judges. We were given voice and breathing lessons. Even one of my classmates made it to the semi finals in American Idol and currently hosts a number of shows here on Long Island.
Voice acting wasn't always the first thing on my mind but over the years I'd be doing impressions and tried ways of changing my voice around.
Skip ahead to 2007, I took a website I created in 2002 and added a store to it in an effort to leave the 9-5 office work from my programming/ Computer Science education. This site and business is related to Japanese anime and so voice acting and dubbing always became a talking point. It wasn't until 2010 when Bang! Zoom! Studios began their nationwide courses in ADR and prelay thus reignited my interest in voice acting.
Since then I've taken all of Bang Zoom's courses and have taken voice evaluations with Edge Studio in NYC with two established voice actors in Japanese anime ADR and original animations.
Select chorus member in high school (1998-2002),
Bang Zoom Studio's AiVa (Adventures in Voice Acting) Beginner Course (2010),
Bang Zoom Studio's AiVa (Adventures in Voice Acting) Intermediate Course (2010),
Bang Zoom Studio's AiVa (Adventures in Voice Acting) Advance Course (2011),
2 out of 5 Voice Evaluation courses at Edge Studios (NYC) (late 2011) (they recommended Voices123.com)
At the AiVa courses, I learned and performed ADR and pre-lay acting in the sound booth at Edge Studios. Work was done with Japanese anime, video games (both american and Japanese), and some original animation.
Breathing methods, audition edicate, pre-lay, and ADR all taught and exercises at these lessons.
