I have worked in radio for over 17 years. i also co-host a radio show with my husband for over 10 years, I have been voicing commerials of all types for 12+ years. I was born and raised in NY, so I can easily use a NY Brooklyn accent. I am also from an Italian background, and my grandparents spoke in broken english, therefore I picked up on it and can use that type of voice (which is great for a humorous commercial.)
graduated high school, worked for a major airline for 17 years as a ticket agent and gate agent. Part of my job description was to make announcements on daily basis at the airport gates over speaker system. This was excellent training for me. I also used diction tapes to learn how to speak in a more generic voice. I love theatre and have performed in numerous plays from a young girl to my adulthood. I worked with puppets for 10 years and wrote a good many puppet scripts. I have also learned how to write radio scripts. I read "Radio Inc" and I also use Radio script books to get ideas.
I have a small studio in my home using Pro-tools, and also have access to a local studio using Cool edit pro 2 software. I have access to a music bed library of over 1000+ selections.
worked for major airline in NY. taught small children in a church setting (children's ministry)for 10 years using puppetry and story telling. This caused me to have to be assertive and always prepared to be spontaneous. I did clowning on and off for 10+ years and loved being behind a face and becoming another character.
