My favorite job so far was the accident that first introduced me to voice over work. Years ago, I worked at the Naval Academy in Annapolis for a multimedia company. They had been commissioned to create a welcome video about the Academy for the Visitor's Center. They asked me to just stand in for them and record the voice over so they could start working on the video. They told me they would bring in a professional later on. I recorded that spot for them, saw the professional come in a week or two later, and then thought nothing more of it. A few months later, my parents came to visit the Naval Academy and they went to the welcome center. Upon meeting me after I finished up work, my mother exclaimed, "You didn't tell me you were the voice in the Visitor's Center video!"
Apparently, they liked my voice better than the professional's. If that hadn't happened. I never would've even known the world of Voice Over existed.
I have a BA from St. John's College, Annapolis, Maryland, and a Post Grad Certificate in Philosophy of Religion from Oxford University, England.
I have a certificate in Voice Over Acting from Brookdale Community College in New Jersey, and have completed training with Amy Hartman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I used to sing regularly and took lessons. I am currently an acting student. I write and used to competitively perform poetry-- this taught me alot about using my voice, pacing, and story telling. I have also traveled alot and have lived in England and France. My travels, in addition to teaching me another language, taught me to speak clearly and have good diction so that people could more easily understand me.
Microphones: Rode NT2000 and a Shure PG58.
Interface: Roland
Program: Reaper
I have a passion for sound editing. I used to run the sound board every Sunday morning for my church's band. I had many people tell me that nobody else balanced the sound as well as I did. I have a good ear for how something should sound, and what sounds good.
I've worked in many Customer Service jobs. My relationship with my clients is important to me. I want us to communicate well and have a good relationship.
