I remember my first recording experience, I was 8 years old! My dad brought me into the studio and I remember the clear glass window, the microphone and ear phones that kept sliding off my head.
I was terrified... but it's a relationship that has stood the test of time. Now in my 30's, I still feel the adrenalin when recording.
My first experience was at Radio Algoa, which is now known as Algoa FM. I was 8 years old. At the age of 15 I worked at Kingfisher Fm, and at 18 went to work at CBFM.
In my early 20's I did some time at WBRU in Rhode Island, and ended up back in SA - working at Algoa FM. I have worked here for 10 years, and done countless voice overs.
I do have a home studio, with a beautiful condenser mic that I recently bought. A massive leap from the little cheap one I had been using for ages.
I use Audacity to edit with, only because I have Windows 10 - which is sadly not able to load Pro Tools on.
