I have a meteorology degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I interned at two television stations and had the opportunity to practice delivering a forecast in front of the green screen. I am currently a student at the Illinois Center for Broadcasting, where I am learning techniques in both radio and television, including voiceover techniques.
At the Illinois Center for Broadcasting, we have 16 recording studios, which are equipped with microphones, recording devices (CD and mini-disc), computers with USB drives for storage, and Adobe Audition 3.0 for editing and production purposes.
As mentioned above, I have a degree in meteorology and have interned at television stations in the weather department, so I do have some background in a newsroom environment. I have also done a news update on our local radio station during high school as part of an extra-curricular project. As a student at Illinois Center for Broadcasting, I also have on-air experience as a play-by-play man and color commentator for local football and volleyball games (more sports will be added to this list as the school year goes on).
